The Rome Marathon 2015 route

The Rome Marathon 2015 route

Over 42 km through the streets of Rome with the starting point and finish line at the Colosseum, the river of participants flow across this 2015 route. For those of you who don’t want to miss one of the most important events of the year, whether that may be as a runner or spectator, the route will cross over the city on 22nd March, reaching the northern point of the mosque and villa ada and its most southern point of the ostiense district at Piramide Cestia.

Whether you are signed up to run at the sporting event or are planning to spectate, you can find a Rome B&B to ensure you don’t miss out.

The route of the track isn’t a simple one because there are 77 predicted changes of direction on the course, between cobblestones and asphalt, hills such as that of Via del iV Novembre, and between the Quirinale and Piazza Venezia. The athletes will pass by the principal sights of Rome’s city centre, amongst those the Trevi fountain and Saint Peter’s square, from the bridges of the river Tiber to Traforo Umberto I, Via del Tritone and Via Nazionale. Even as spectators, it will be worth seeing this event as it is amongst the best city marathons to see, this year in its 21st edition in the beauty that is Rome.
