A Sunday at the Quirinal Palace
We have learnt a lot from the election of President Mattarella and the possibility to visit the Quirinal Palace is just for starters. The Palace is not only for the President of the Republic, but also here to represent a unique architectural structure and fine art. It is a real open museum that is shared with the whole world. Many operas of art can be found inside: furnishing, decoration and prestigious architecture, not to mention artistic and historical testimonies from the Renaissance, through the seven hundreds, the Napoleon era and the Savoy reign, all the way to the nine hundreds. Moreover, the palace can be found upon the highest of the seven hills on which the eternal city of Rome is built, appearing to dominate it. It is possible to visit the Quirinal Palace every Sunday from 8:30 until 12:00, with the exceptions of the following dates: 4th January - 1st February - 5th April - 31st May - 1st November - 20th and 27th December and during the summer from 28th June to 6th September. The visit takes about 60 minutes, with a full ticket price of 10 euro and reduced price of 5 euro. You can also be a part of the concerts that take place in the Paolina Chapel, which begin at 12.
This is a wonderful experience, strolling through our history you feel integrated in our democracy and, let me just say, it is a proud moment for us Italians, too.
We know that Rome always gives us the gift of something new to set our sights upon and that it is one of the cities that you feel you must return to for its beauty, for its blue skies and the congeniality of the city’s people… a holiday to Rome is always a treat, both for us and for whomever we travel, with!
