Syracuse, Farmhouse Villa dei Papiri

The organic farm Villa Dei Papiri in Syracuse is an ancient restored Sicilian farm of the nineteenth century, has an extension of 17 hectares where they are organically grown lemons (the Syracusan femminello) and oranges (mori, common tarot and nocellari). The property is surrounded by papyri more than 3 meters high. palm trees, secular olive trees, almond trees, carob trees, cypresses, bonsai trees and other traditional Mediterranean plants. It is located 5 km from Syracuse, in the Natural Reserve of the river Ciane & Saline, three meters from the mythological Fonte Ciane one of the most interesting tourist destinations in the area. Precisely this source preserves the only indigenous European station of the papyrus, a plant used since time immemorial for the preparation of those extraordinary paper rolls on which much of the history of human civilization has been handed down. The area also denotes an important archaeological interest as well as naturalistic, as many Paleolithic remains have been found such as tombs and workplaces with caves and wells. These findings are invaluable evidence of the presence of ancient Sicilian human settlements. It is in this vast nature reserve that you will find Villa dei Papiri, a place with an invaluable historical and landscape heritage, surrounded by greenery and equipped with every comfort where the visitor has the opportunity to relax and appreciate the beauty that surrounds it.

The places to sleep are characterized by being bright and extremely comfortable, in colors, materials, objects and details. Every choice was made to enhance the sense of well-being, emphasizing some elements of Sicilian memory but in settings with a contemporary breath. An invitation to spend your stay without haste, a bit 'out of the world but with everything around. The suites are distributed on two levels (ground floor and mezzanine). They have an area ranging from 45 square meters (suite 2 beds) to more than 65 square meters (suite up to 5 beds). The Dépendance are surrounded by citrus groves and overlook the gardens. Each double room is independent, furnished with antique furniture, equipped with every comfort: heating and air conditioning, large bathroom with shower, mini bar and television, wi fi.
