Enna is the only land-locked province of Sicily and it is entirely mountainous. Enna, is also the highest capital in Sicily. The Lombard Castle and Frederick’s Tower, both built by Frederick II, are the main medieval monuments in the city of Enna. Also in the city of Enna is the Alessi Museum, which has a wonderful coin collection and a collection of Renaissance jewellery.
Pergusa is the largest outlying suburb hamlet of Enna . It is located 10 km from downtown.The Natural Reserve of Lake Pergusa, is the most important part of central Sicily boasting a rich bird life. It also includes the basin of Lake Pergusa, and the Selva Pergusina. Since 2007 Enna also has a seaplane that lets visitors to get to the Palermo airport , the Malta airport, the airports of the smaller islands (Lampedusa and Pantelleria) and other airports. The nearest one is Catania Fontanarossa (90km away ) while the station of Enna is about 5 km from the B&B.
