Alezio, Bed & Breakfast Costa Ionica

The B&B is situated in the vicinity of Alezio, a small town of Messapian origin 4 kilometres from Gallipoli, a well known seaside resort in Salento. It is 30 kilometres far from Lecce, the city called the “Florence of the South” thanks to the Baroque style of its monuments.

The country house dates back to the mid XVIII century and nowadays is an elegant, ancient residence with all its beauty still intact after so many years. The four rooms at our guests’ disposal are on the first floor, once inhabited by the aristocratic family who owned it. Two of the rooms are double, though one single bed can be added; one
more three-bed room and a double are communicating.

The walls and the vaults are magnificently decorated and painted with frescos while the floors are made of Venetian grit tiles with mother-of-pearl settings. The furnishings are refined.Every room is equipped with air conditioning, television and fridge, WIFIas well as a private bathroom with shower and hair dryer.

The country house, whose main entrance is through a long, tree-lined walk, is built in a spacious, carefully run garden, surrounded by a big and fruit-bearing citrus grove. In the back garden there is a big pergola with rare breeds of grapes, while in the front a majestic portico, dating back to the beginning of last century, can be seen.
The guests’ attention is attracted by a round fountain, still working, representing a perfect ecosystem where lots of goldfish live in harmony among pink water lilies and other water plants.

At night, the beauty of the place is enhanced by an enchanting lighting.
