The b&b Su Niu is on the third and last floor of a building built between the end of 1800 and the beginning of 1900. The house is located in the city centre of Cagliari, in Via Sassari. This area is well linked with train station (airport’s shuttles availables) and bus station: you can find every service in the near square Piazza Matteotti. There are urban buses and extra urban buses and it’s possible to arrive at every place you want: Poetto’s beach, old sardinian cities, etc…
In a few minutes by foot you can reach the old town: Castello, Marina and Villanova quarters are waiting for you! You are also near to the shopping centre and to the nightlife of Cagliari! In ten minutes you can arrive at Mem, the first civic multimedia library.
The legend said that our great-great-grandmother Eletterina Boero, a ligurian business owner, had paid the construction with “is arrealis” (saved cents) that were putted on a basket of reed called “corbula”.
During the second world war, in the 1943, the building was subjected to serious damages in the main façade in Via Sassari. Unfortunately, during the reconstruction’s postwar period, the balcony and the staircase, made with wrought iron, were impossible to save. Today it’s possible to admire old balconies only in Vico Malta.
The building was remodernized in the last few years and was added an elevator to make easier the arrival to our floor. The apartment is big and bright, bedrooms are wide with five metres vault and with some parts of the original wall in view tuff.
During the Festival of Sant’Efisio on the 1 of May, you can enjoy the amazing show from our balconies in Via Sassari.
The B&B offers two comfortable bedrooms: one is called Lavanda, the other one Fiordaliso. Both rooms have ensuite bathroom, air conditioned with individual control, Internet Wi-Fi free, tv.
Breakfast (usually continental) is served in Elicriso’s room from 7.30 am to 9.30 am.
The rest of the house is inhabitated by the family, that would be pleased to have you as guests.
