With the arrival of Spring the days are longer again, the sun warms the air, and the desire for a vacation gets stronger…until the arrival of Summer and the real holidays we can take advantage of this period to organise a brief getaway of 4-5 days, perhaps for Easter or for the 1st of May and enjoy a little time off...
The ideal thing to do in this period is spend a brief vacation in a B&B Sicily, in one of the many coastal areas around Trinacria where it is possible during April and May to lie in the sun and even take the first sea swim of the season.
A holiday could start in Palermo, a beautiful city on the sea with important churches, historic buildings, marvellous fountains, interesting museums and popular street markets to visit. There are countless narrow streets to explore in the centre of the city before moving on down the coast to Cefalu, Sant’Agata di Militello and Capo d’Orlando in the direction of Messina.
The alternative is to start off in Catania and discover the small towns along the coast like Taormina where you can visit the caves of Alcantara…the possibilities are endless, all that's left to do is organise your trip and…leave !!
