Bed & Breakfast is more than a simple definition. It is almost a philosophy, focusing on a clean and friendly atmosphere of hospitality.
This was the idea that North European countries had about it. Actually, those countries were the first to develop that formula, so different from what other traditional structures were offering, and that nowadays is known and appreciated worldwide. In Irland, for example, it represents about 20% of the tourist incoming market.The client who chooses the B&B formula is a person who probably prefers the more direct experience of a family to the professional organized structures, like hotels. It is a unique experience that allows guests to see Italy from the Italians' point of view for a few days. As for the hosts, apart from the earnings, that can represent a good income increase however, they are often urged on by the desire to establish intercultural relationships with people around the world, speaking different languages and plunging in the so-called " Global Village ", in other words : making friends. Bed&Breakfast Italia aims to spread these values of friendship and hospitality, and it is for this reason also that its staff tries to put together people who share the same interests, hobbies and cultures, when possible.
The suggestions, all the amount of encouraging letters, all the thank-yous B&B International receives, as well as the criticism and, why not, some letters of complaint, all this is an incentive to improve day after day.
