Tourist info Trentino South Tirol

Trentino South Tirol Trentino Alto adige is one of Italy’s most northern regions and its most outstanding feature is its geomorphologic make up. Trentino is a region that overwhelms nature lovers with its uncontaminated countryside. It offers mountain lovers some of the most beautiful scenery of all of Italy: the Dolomites which run through the region give it a a unique charm and changing light which is not to be found elsewhere in the world. The Dolomites with the Pale San Martino, Brenta, Sasso Lungo, Catinaccio and Vajolet Mountains to name but a few, are not the only attraction that Trentino Alto Adige has to offer. The Stelvio Park and all the Ladin valleys, the Molveno, the Santa Giustina and the Caldonazzo Lakes and many other lake basins all go to make this region a natural treasure. From the vast range of tourist resorts we would like to mention some of the most important: Alta Val Venosta, Val Pusteria, Brunico, Canazei, Dobbiaco, Madonna di Campiglio, Val Gardena and Predazzo.
The provinces of trentino Alto adige are Bolzano and Trento. Bolzano stands to the south of the valley of Adige. We would recommend seeing: the Cathedral, a gothic temple from 1300 situated in the central Piazza Walther, the gothic Dominican Church with its chapel of St. John characterized by the numerous frescoes and also the pretty Domenicani Square with its Tyrolese-style façade.
Without a doubt, Trento is historically and artistically richer due to the various invasions and events through the centuries.
The Cathederal of San Virgilio is the region’s main monument. Its style is gothic-romanesque and its beautiful bell tower dates back to the sixteenth century.
Other attractions are: the Vanga Tower an ancient Roman stronghold and Piazza Duomo decorated with the fountain of Neptune. This square with its pretty frescoed houses is considered to be one of Italy’s most beautiful and Piazza di Fiera with its long stretch of embattled wall.
Finally we would like to bring to your attention the Castello del Buonconsiglio. This huge castle surrounded by high walls and with a drawbridge at its entrance, was built in different periods starting from the beginning of the thirteenth century.

Trentino Alto Adige welcomes thousands of guests every year and offers a wide and varied range of accommodation choices. Hotels, guest houses, rooms-to-let, self catering apartments, chalets and holiday resorts are available all over Trentino. Youth hostels and camp sites situated through out Trentino Alto Adige, offer different possibilities for young people.
A practical and cheap solution for accommodation and overnight stays in Bolzano, Trento and all of Trentino is the Bed & Breakfast option.
The B&Bs in Trentino Alto Adige are rooms, bedrooms or small apartments that offer overnight stays and breakfast in a welcoming family environment at a good price.
