Trentino Alto adige is one of Italy’s most northern regions and its most outstanding feature is its geomorphologic make up. The Cathederal of San Virgilio is the region’s main monument. Its style is gothic-romanesque and its beautiful bell tower dates back to the sixteenth century.
Other attractions are: the Vanga Tower an ancient Roman stronghold and Piazza Duomo decorated with the fountain of Neptune. This square with its pretty frescoed houses is considered to be one of Italy’s most beautiful and Piazza di Fiera with its long stretch of embattled wall.
Finally we would like to bring to your attention the Castello del Buonconsiglio. This huge castle surrounded by high walls and with a drawbridge at its entrance, was built in different periods starting from the beginning of the thirteenth century.
