Liguria is without a doubt one of Italy’s most charming regions. Its shape and its coastline full of inlets and small gulfs makes it one of the most sought after spots of summer tourists. All of the Ligurian provinces are historically interesting but a special word of mention must go to Savona which is known as the door to Peimonte thanks to its strategic position. It still bears the architectural signs of its past with styles ranging from medieval times to the Baroque period.
Numerous Ligurian towns and cities both inland and on the coast deserve a visit, to name but a few: Alassio, Albenga, Chiavari, Rapallo, Pietra Ligure, Sestri Levante and Santa Margherita Ligure.
