The area is rich in history, Garibaldi landed here with the Hunters of the Alps and the hills that surround Sesto Calende fostered a culture that dates back 3,500 years and is today is a cornerstone of archeology. Visitors can learn more about the Golant Civilization at the nearby archaeological museum. There are numerous ways of visiting Lake Maggiore including cycling along the many cycle paths.
