Palma di Montechiaro (Parma di Muntichiaru in Sicilian) is a town in the province of Agrigento. Formerly known as Palma, in 1863, Montechiaro was added to the name, in honour of the Chiaramonte family whose stronghold is close to the town. Three kilometres west from the town there is a castle, on a rocky spot looking to the sea, Tomasi di Lampedusa's property. The castle has an irregular plan developing around a square-shaped donjon. Of great interest is its chapel which houses inside the beautiful Madonna di Montechiaro, a marble statue made by Antonello Gagini (1478-1536), an artist from Palermo. The B&B is situated in a lovely villa with swimming pool, located in the resindential are of Palma, very close to city centre. The owners set aside to the guests four double bedrooms and two triple rooms, all with private bathroom, air-conditioning and TV. They are furnished in a tasteful ,modern style. Breakfasts are served the breakfast room.
