This bed and breakfast is located in an eighteenth century building on Cosrso Vittorio Emanuele, the road known as the 'Cassaro', the main road in the old town centre of Palermo. Porta Nuova, Pretoria Square better known as Piazza Vergogna (the square of Shame) and the Quattro Canti a fine example of Baroque architecture are all monuments located just a few steps from the bed and breakfast. It is in a particularly good location for visiting the city as it is surrounded by important churches, old noble homes, wonderful fountains, important museums, popular markets and characteristic narrow city streets. It is a safe area ideal for shopping and trying out genuine Sicilian cuisine in the many restaurants and trattorias of the old town centre and also for experiencing the city's nightlife.

The beach is easily reached with an efficient bus service (n° 806). The central station is a 15 minute walk from the house and from here airport coaches for the International Falcone-Borsellino Airport leave every 30 minutes. The owners warmly welcome guests and are very hospitable and discreet. They are happy to help their clients with tourist information (in English and French), maps and brochures. The B&B does not have private car parking. There is garage parking available on payment a few blocks from the structure. Guests can park motorbikes and bicycles free of charge at the b&b.

There is a twin bedroom, a double, a single and a triple. All the rooms were completely restored at the beginning of 2005 and have been carefully decorated. Each room has a wide, bright balcony, en-suite with shower and ceiling fan even though the thick walls guarantee silence and coolness in summer and warmth in winter. Breakfast (with typical local products) is served in the large dining room or on the spacious, sunny terrace with brick floor and flowers that make this a lovely place to relax under the sun umbrella or sunbathe.

Wenn das Frühstück noch ein bischen mehr der Köstlichkeiten der siziilianischen Pasticierien wiederspiegeln würde, wäre der Ort superb!!! Anyway: the euro is well spent there and the landlord is very nice and is open to solve problems that are normally not his business, like allowing to use his washing machine because public laundries are closed. Recommended!
