Genoa, stretches along the bay of the same name from Voltri in the west as far as Nervi to the east, while the hinterland area takes in the lower parts of the Polcevera and Bisagno Valleys. The present-day urban conglomeration is the result of the merging of various municipalities in 1926. The original nucleus of the city, which already existed in pre-Roman times, developed around the Mandraccio wharf area and on Castello Hill, which overlooks it. In the ninth century, the Genoese built the first town walls and laid the foundations for the development of shipping and sea-trading, which would eventually make the Republic of Genoa a Mediterranean sea power and create a dominion stretching across the entire region of Liguria. From the nineteenth century onwards, the great city port was flanked by large industrial areas. The old town district is one of the largest in Europe. The B&B is located on the forth floor of an old building in front of the Acquario de Genoa , the largest aquarium in Europe. The décor is particularly elegant and tasteful with antique furniture, valuable fabrics and warm colours. It offers one double bedroom and one twin room with two French beds. Both the rooms have en-suite with shower, air-conditioning, TV and Internet connection. Italian breakfast is served in the dining room.. The Metro station San Giorgio that leads to the Central Railway Station is very close to the accommodation.

Komfort des Zimmers: Es müsste dringend ein Ventilator installiert werden in den Zimmern, da es darin nachts so heiss ist, dass man fast keinen Schlaf findet. Fenster öffnen ist praktisch nicht möglich, wegen starkem Lärm von der nahe gelegenen Strasse. Auch ein Kleiderschrank war leider nicht verfügbar.

Für Leute mit Fahrzeug ist dieses B & B weniger geeignet, da Fahrzeug auf einem der sehr teuren öffentlichen Parkplätze unbewacht geparkt werden muss (Parkgebühren ca. 40 € pro Tag).

Falls wir wieder einmal nach Genua kommen, ohne eigenes Fahrzeug, würden wir dieses B & B sicher wieder wählen. Andernfalls würden wir ein Hotel (vorallem wegen der Parkplatzgebühren) vorziehen.
