Although it was only built recently, this house has the charm of a long-lived in home. Like the houses of times gone by, it is simple and discreet among the hilly scenery of the Calatina countryside. It was built in fact, on the model of the traditional rural Sicilian dwellings, with materials that respect the environment and favour living …in tune with nature…. The clay brick walls, the wooden fixtures, tiled floors, wooden celings and clay roof tiles, ensure a balance in temperature and a pleasing appearance. The walls have ecological paint. Water is heated by solar energy. In the bedrooms there are beech tree bed bases, latex mattresses, warm quilts made of natural wool (in winter) and fresh linen sheets (in summer) that guarantee guests a relaxing, comfortable night's sleep. In the spacious living room (heated on winter evenings by a tiled, ecological stove) guests are free to relax, drinking a cup of tea, listening to music or reading a book. Visitors can also look after their health taking part in yoga and Do-In automassage sessions. In the garden, among the perfume of the mediterranean plants, you can enjoy a tasty breakfast based on delicious pastries made with natural, organic ingredients from the local area and Sicilian almond milk, barley coffee, fruit tarts, malt rice ice-cream and fresh fruit. Piazza Armerina is 30 kms away, Villa Romana del Casale 28 kms, Ragusa 60 kms, Modica 75 kms, Noto 90 kms, Siracuse 100 kms.
