After our stay at B&B near Lake Maggiore, we did the tour by boat of the Borromean Islands. Isola Madre was excellent for the gardens which we were interested to discover had been advised by the RHS in Britain. The second island had a good choice of fish based restaurants and the third was Isola Bella with the wonderful palace. We also drove up the coast towards Locarno and explored Cannobio with its network of old streets, Sunday market and the quay. Also we drove a circular tour to Lake Orta most of which - apart fron the bit through Omegna - was beautiful and the township of Orta itself is well worth the walk down the hill from the car park.

Osteria degli amici in Stresa - good standard Italian menu. Fairly priced wine and efficient service. Restaurant of The Hotel Fiorentino, Stresa. Huge portions of starters - Bresaola and Anitpasti - which we were allowed to take away...

Just walking around Rome and falling across its many treasures was the best way to feel the city.
The Borghese Gallery allowed a close up view of an incredible collection of great masterpieces. The Vatican was easy to explore from our place. It was only a five minute walk and we spent a day there.

It was easy to find places to eat around our location but we also enjoyed walking around Rome itself. We would come across a side street somewhere and find a great dining experience. It is a great experience to be in a city where one can walk around and do just that. The experience is in the journey of getting there as much as it is in arriving there.

Rome is a city made for walking and exploring. That makes it my kind of city. It is a place that is fun to walk around in , not concerning ones...

We had a wonderful stay in Rome. We have visited the Vatican Museum, Sistine chaplel, Basilica St Pietro, The Colloseo, Foro Romana, The Pantheon, etc. We saw very impressive artworks of Caravaggio in St Luiggi di Francesi and Santa Maria del Popolo. In St. Clemente we visited the tomb of St. Cyril - the creator of Cyrillic alphabet, and this was very important for me like Bulgarian. You breathe the history in Rome.

In Italy you can never go wrong with the food - because it is always excellent. As we were really exhausted in the evening we ate in the neighbourhood in small restaurants recommended by our host, like Lotto Vecchio (hope I spell correctly), Ricomincidatre and Manggia Fuoco. We had the chance to taste original Sicilian and Roman cuisine and all above mentioned places were visited mainly by Italians, but not tour...

Agrigento was an excellent base for these day trips and our B and B was perfect. Sicily is an outstanding place to visit. We spent time walking among the ruins at the Valley of the Temples. We also took time and drove to visit some distant family in a nearby town of Aragona. A side trip to Casltagirone, a small Sicilian town known for its ceramics was delightful as well as a drive along the coast viewing the white cliffs. .

I don't think you could find a bad meal if you tried. Everything is fresh and homemade. We enjoyed the seafood and pasta. Agrigento wasn't a "tourist" town and we felt we were with real Italians. Some of our previous experiences made me wonder where the Italians were, hearing English, German or French being spoken. This was our first time in Sicily and we loved it. Local shops pr...

"Bravo" is what I can think to appreciate the B&B I stayed at,  just feel like home! Castle dell'Ovo is a good place to go. In Italy, not many places can have medieval castles to see, and Napoli historican centre is one, and dell'Ovo is what I need. Though it is not really a great fortress comparing to the one I visited in the past, it is definitely a good place to see the sunset and the night view of Napoli.

Undoubtly, L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Via C.Sersale is a must to try. Not only tourists, even many local Italians appreciate the pizza there too as well, and the price doesn't adjust for big profit but is still in a "local price" (not tourist price). Personally, I think the quality/price ratio is good, but it's not really so surprising (I think some other pizzeria can also offer the same or even better quality piz...
